Her first professional match when she was twenty against Elizabeth Posener who was a Muay Thai specialist. The following year, she debuted as a pro at the HOOKnSHOOT women's one-night Grand Prix. She took home her first FCF Women's Bantamweight Championship after two years. Tate was praised and appreciated because of her style of combat and her use of Brazilian jiu jitsu and wrestling. In the following years, her renown increased when she was the first female to win the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship. She's modeled not just for mixed martial arts, but many websites and publications like 'ESPN the Magazine' as well as Fitness Gurls. The character is playable in the game EA Sports UFC as well.
