Alicia Machado, the beauty queen, actress and model was born Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo on December 6, 1976, in Maracay, Venezuela. Alicia is of mixed blood. Her dad was Spanish and her mother was Cuban. Her name is prominently featured on beauty competitions and TV. Alicia Machado began her rise to fame aged 19, she took home the title of Miss Venezuela representing Yaracuy. The winner was Miss Universe 1996 one year after being crowned Miss Venezuela. This was four-time Venezuelan winning the award. In her time as Miss Universe, however, was not without controversy and negativity from the media because of her weight gain throughout her time as Miss Universe.
